Origin: Egypt

 

Plant description:

STERCULIACEAE Vent. Petals absent ; flowers unisexual or polygamous ; tree.

STERCULIA L. Large tree with thick grey branches. Leaves cordate-based, rounded or 3-lobed, long-petioled, almost glabrous.

STERCULIA AFRICANA (Lour.) Fiori: Flowers numerous in axillary rich panicles. Calyx downy outside, smooth and pink inside. Fruiting carpels (follicles) 3-5, spreading, acuminate, downy outside. (Frut.)
