ANGIOSPERMAE. Carpels infolded or arranged as to form an ovary in which the
ovules are borne. Class
DICOTYLEDONEAE. Embryo with 2 cotyledons ; stem with open vascular bundles ;
leaves usually netveined ; flowers usually not 3-merous. ~ Subclass
SYMPETALAE. Perianth of united parts, at least the corolla. PLANTAGINALES: PLANTAGINACEAE.
Mostly herbs with rosetted leaves and scape ; dense spike or head of small,
scarious, 4-merous, regular flowers with 4 equal stamens ; lid-capsule. Source:
